I did not leave nursing to start a business.
My mother went into a catatonic coma. I knew she was coming to live with me, and there was no way on this earth I could keep working sixty hour weeks. So I pivoted into the family dump truck business full time, at the hardest moment of my life, because I had run out of other options.
That is not a highlight reel. That is what actually happened.
I am not telling nurses to run from nursing.
I am teaching nurses to stop treating nursing as the only asset they own.
